Paddy Pallin Science Grants

Funding field-based ecological research that leads to real conservation outcomes.

About the grants

The Paddy Pallin Science Grants support field-based, high-quality ecological research that will ultimately lead to tangible outcomes for conservation management across Australia. We fund researchers working directly with threatened species, ecosystems and conservation-relevant questions.

The grants reflect Paddy Pallin's deep belief in the importance of understanding the natural world — and the conviction that good science is the foundation of effective conservation.

What we fund

  • Field-based research on threatened species and ecosystems
  • Studies directly informing conservation management decisions
  • Research on invasive species and their control
  • Ecological studies in underserved regions or taxa
  • Work that builds bridges between science and conservation practice

Grant criteria

Grants are assessed on scientific merit, conservation relevance, and the potential for research outcomes to be translated into practical conservation management. We particularly encourage applications that involve collaboration with land managers, conservation organisations and Traditional Owners.
