Supporting bat research and conservation across Australia and New Zealand.
The Paddy Pallin Foundation is proud to support the Australasian Bat Society's grant program, which funds research and conservation work for bat species across Australia and New Zealand. Bats are among the most ecologically important and least understood groups of mammals, playing critical roles as pollinators, seed dispersers and insect controllers.
Many bat species in Australia are threatened or in decline, facing pressures from habitat loss, wind farms, disease and climate change. Research is urgently needed to understand their ecology and develop effective conservation strategies.
The Australasian Bat Society (ABS) is the peak body for bat researchers, conservationists and enthusiasts in Australia and New Zealand. The Society promotes the study, conservation and management of bats through research, education and advocacy.
The ABS administers an annual grant program supporting bat research across the region. The Paddy Pallin Foundation contributes to this program, helping fund field studies and conservation projects that would otherwise lack support.
Applications are administered through the Australasian Bat Society. For current information on application rounds and guidelines, please visit the ABS website or contact us.
