Since 1992, Paddy Pallin Stores have encouraged their customers to reduce waste by opting not to take a bag. For every customer that does not take a bag Paddy Pallin donate 20c to the specified Paddy Pallin Foundation worthy cause. It is hoped that this forum will raise public awareness to the plight of the chosen causes. The money raised for each initiative goes in full directly to the identified cause.
Supported the Colong Foundation for Wilderness and allies in a corporate and political push to stop raising Warragamba Dam and protect wild rivers like the Kowmung in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
Helped defend the Pilliga forest and its groundwater from coal seam gas drilling and related infrastructure.
Contributed to the Tasmanian Land Conservancy’s work buying and managing private nature reserves across the island.
Backed recovery efforts for the endangered Gouldian finch in northern Australia’s savanna woodlands.
Funded the Alliance for Australia’s national advocacy for threatened species, protected areas and climate action.
Supported the campaign to create a Great Koala National Park for critical koala forests on the NSW mid-north coast.
Helped captive breeding, release and habitat work for one of Australia’s rarest migratory parrots.
Funded messaging so bushwalkers clean boots and gear to slow the spread of diseases like amphibian chytrid into the wild.
Backed efforts to expand the National Reserve System and secure more protected areas on public and private land.

Funded habitat links and alpine restoration for Australia’s only hibernating marsupial, the mountain pygmy-possum.
